Liberty Projects provides healing programs, advocacy services, and community support for veterans at no cost. We believe healing happens through connection, purpose, and belonging.
Equine Therapy
Led by JP Hoffman (professional horse trainer, service-connected veteran) with support from Jay Schroeder (former Raiders QB and Super Bowl Champion), our equine program uses rescued wild mustangs to teach trust, communication, and emotional regulation. Veterans learn through hands-on experience in a nonjudgmental environment that addresses trauma without requiring constant verbalization. The 8-week structured horsemanship training includes unmounted work, grooming, riding, and relationship-building skills that translate directly to daily life challenges.
Operation Stay;
Female veteran retreats led by Kelli Lumsden (Air Force veteran, peer support specialist). Multi-day retreat experiences addressing PTSD, trauma, and isolation specific to women veterans. Program combines therapeutic activities, peer connection, and safe space for healing led by someone with lived experience. Operation Stay; creates community where female veterans can heal without judgment, build lasting connections with others who understand their unique challenges, and access resources in a supportive ranch environment.
VA Advocacy
Comprehensive support navigating the VA claims process. We help veterans understand their benefits, prepare documentation, and access what they've earned through service. Our team provides hands-on assistance with paperwork, role-playing preparation for evaluations, transportation to appointments, and emotional support throughout the often overwhelming claims journey. We work directly with veterans and their Veterans Service Officers to ensure complete, organized submissions that increase approval rates and reduce the stress of navigating complex VA systems.
